Sirius XM Shares Surge After Deutsche Bank Cites Undervalued Growth Potential

Summary
Shares of the satellite radio giant climbed over 7% after Deutsche Bank upgraded the stock to 'Buy,' citing a significant disconnect between market expectations and the company's future revenue from advertising partnerships.
Shares of Sirius XM Holding Inc. (NASDAQ:SIRI) jumped more than 7.5% in trading on Wednesday following an upgrade from Deutsche Bank, which raised its rating on the stock to Buy from Hold and significantly increased its price target.
The Analyst's Thesis
Deutsche Bank analyst Bryan Kraft lifted the firm's price target on Sirius XM to $45 from a previous $31. In a note to clients, Kraft argued that the stock is "mispriced based on a large disconnect between consensus estimates and what we believe the company can achieve in 2027 and 2028."
The upgrade is underpinned by Deutsche Bank's higher estimates for Sirius XM's revenue, EBITDA, and free cash flow. The bank cited an improved outlook for digital audio advertising, expected stability in the core satellite radio subscription business, and the anticipated resumption of share repurchases in the second half of 2026 as key drivers for its optimistic view.
XM is a well-established broker offering ultra-low minimum deposits and broad asset coverage across retail clients.
Advertising Partnerships Seen as Key Catalyst
AdThe core of the bullish outlook centers on advertising revenue that the market has yet to price in, according to the note. Kraft stated that consensus estimates appear to be disregarding the impact of SiriusXM’s exclusive U.S. audio advertising partnership with YouTube.
Deutsche Bank projects this relationship could generate $2 billion in annual incremental revenue by 2029, contributing an estimated $350 million to $400 million to EBITDA. This contrasts sharply with Bloomberg consensus estimates, which imply only $250 million in consolidated revenue growth from 2026 through 2028. The firm's model, however, forecasts $1.5 billion in revenue growth over the same period, an 8% compound annual growth rate (CAGR).
Valuation and Market Impact
In response to the upgrade and raised target, investors sent Sirius XM shares sharply higher. Deutsche Bank's new $45 price target is based on a valuation of 8.0 times its 2027 estimated EBITDA.
This represents a premium to the stock's current market valuation, which the note places at 6.7 times 2026 estimated EBITDA. The analyst also pointed to an expanded relationship with Amazon's demand-side platform (DSP) as an additional tailwind for advertising inventory sales.
