LPA Stock Surges 18.5% on Approval of $145 Million Peru Asset Sale

Shares of Logistic Properties of the Americas (NYSE American: LPA) surged 18.5% on Friday after the company announced it had received regulatory clearance for the sale of a key asset in Peru. The approval paves the way for the completion of a $145 million transaction and a strategic redeployment of capital into Mexico.
Regulatory Hurdle Cleared
Peru's antitrust authority, INDECOPI, granted approval for the sale of Parque Logístico Lima Sur to FIBRA Prime, a prominent Peruvian Real Estate Investment Trust. The asset is a 1.3 million square foot logistics park.
With this final regulatory condition met, the transaction now requires only customary administrative closing procedures. According to CEO Esteban Saldarriaga, the approval "clears the final regulatory hurdle to closing this landmark transaction."
Strategic Shift to Mexico
LPA intends to use the proceeds to fuel expansion in what it identifies as a key growth market. The company plans to reinvest approximately $85 million of net proceeds, before taxes, into its Mexican operations.
AdSaldarriaga stated the divestment marks a "new phase of value creation as we strategically recycle capital into growth opportunities that generate higher risk-adjusted returns." This move highlights the company's strategy of optimizing its portfolio across its regional platform.
Company and Portfolio Context
The positive market reaction underscores investor confidence in LPA's capital recycling strategy. As of June 30, 2026, the company's portfolio included 34 logistics facilities across Costa Rica, Colombia, Peru, and Mexico.
These properties total approximately 6.2 million square feet of gross leasable area, positioning LPA as a significant player in the Latin American logistics real estate market.
