TriSalus Life Sciences Stock Surges on FDA Clearance for New Medical Device

Summary
Shares of the oncology device maker jumped over 15% in pre-market trading after the U.S. Food and Drug Administration granted 510(k) clearance for its TriNav Advance system, designed for liver embolization procedures.
Shares of TriSalus Life Sciences (NASDAQ: TLSI) surged 15.6% in pre-market trading on Wednesday after the company announced it received U.S. Food and Drug Administration clearance for its new TriNav Advance device. The news, released Tuesday evening, pushed the stock to $5.70 a share ahead of the market open.
FDA Greenlights TriNav Advance
The FDA granted 510(k) clearance for the TriNav Advance, a new addition to TriSalus's Pressure-Enabled Drug Delivery portfolio. The device is designed for use in liver embolization procedures, a common treatment in interventional oncology.
According to the company, TriNav Advance addresses a key limitation by enabling drug delivery to smaller, more distant blood vessels. It features two operating modes:
- A telescoping mode that uses a compatible microcatheter for selective delivery to hard-to-reach vessels.
- A high-flow mode for standard infusion through a larger lumen without needing an additional microcatheter.
Strategic Impact and Outlook
AdThe clearance expands the company's toolkit for interventional radiologists. CEO Mary Szela stated the approval "enhances our Pressure-Enabled Drug Delivery portfolio in support of the full range of liver embolization procedures." Chief Medical Officer Richard Marshall added that it allows the company to expand its impact, "particularly in cases involving tortuous anatomies."
TriSalus plans a limited market release of the device in the coming weeks, providing a near-term commercial catalyst. This regulatory milestone follows the company's decision to raise its full-year 2026 revenue guidance above previous consensus estimates, signaling continued commercial momentum.
Market Reaction
The stock's sharp upward move occurred in an otherwise flat market, with the S&P 500 and Dow Jones Industrial Average both up just 0.1%. This underscores that the rally was driven entirely by the company-specific news. The FDA clearance did not appear to cause a significant sympathy move among competing firms in the interventional oncology device sector.
