JPMorgan Downgrades Rollins to Neutral on Weakening Demand, Slashes Price Target to $45

JPMorgan has downgraded pest control company Rollins, Inc. (NYSE: ROL) to Neutral from a previous Overweight rating, citing growing uncertainty around residential demand and a slower-than-anticipated recovery in profit margins.
Price Target and Rationale
The investment bank significantly reduced its price target on the stock to $45 from a prior $70. According to a note from JPMorgan, while Rollins' long-term growth story remains intact, the near-term risk-reward profile has become less compelling following the company's recent investor day communications.
The downgrade was prompted by a weaker-than-expected second quarter and concerns over a "sharp slowdown in consumer-initiated demand." Rollins' management reportedly described current demand patterns as more volatile than at any point in nearly a decade, creating uncertainty for investors.
Underlying Business Pressures
JPMorgan highlighted that Rollins' residential organic growth slowed to 3.6% as brands dependent on digital marketing and inbound calls saw declining lead volumes. The bank noted that Rollins entered its peak season with a cost structure built for stronger growth, which led to profitability pressure as demand softened.
AdRollins' management has suggested that changes in AI-powered search technology could be affecting lead generation, though the company stated the impact is difficult to quantify. Despite these challenges, customer retention remains strong, and recurring revenue businesses like HomeTeam and Fox have proven more resilient, according to the source.
Revised Financial Forecasts
Reflecting the more cautious outlook, JPMorgan has lowered its financial estimates for Rollins. The key forecast changes include:
- Fiscal 2026 revenue growth lowered to 8.7% and fiscal 2027 to 8.4%.
- Adjusted EBITDA margin estimates reduced to 21.9% for 2026 and 22.2% for 2027.
- Adjusted EPS estimates cut to $1.17 for 2026 and $1.26 for 2027.
In line with the analyst's view, Rollins' management has lowered its 2026 incremental EBITDA margin target to at least 10% from its longer-term framework of 30%-35%, while reaffirming confidence in its long-term growth algorithm.
