Enflame Technology Shares Surge 200% in Shanghai Trading Debut

Shares of Shanghai Enflame Technology Co. surged approximately 200% in their trading debut on Friday, a sign of intense investor appetite for domestic artificial intelligence chipmakers as China seeks to build its own semiconductor supply chain.
The Tencent-backed firm, which listed on Shanghai's STAR Market, saw its stock price climb as high as 475 yuan before closing the session around 430 yuan, a dramatic increase from its initial public offering price of 142.18 yuan.
Debut Performance
Enflame's strong opening pushed its market capitalization to roughly 185 billion yuan ($27.6 billion), about three times its valuation at the time of the IPO. The company raised 6.12 billion yuan ($912 million) from the sale of 43 million new shares.
The stock's significant price move was amplified by a relatively small free float, as only 4.16% of its post-IPO shares were available for trading at the debut. Investor demand was exceptionally high, with the online portion of the offering oversubscribed by more than 6,000 times by over 7 million investor accounts.
Market Context
AdEnflame's successful listing reflects a broader market enthusiasm for Chinese technology companies positioned to benefit from Beijing's push for semiconductor self-sufficiency. The company is seen as a key domestic alternative to U.S. firms like Nvidia, particularly as Washington has imposed restrictions on the export of advanced AI chips to China.
Enflame is considered one of China's leading GPU developers, sometimes referred to as one of the "four little GPU dragons." The capital raised from the IPO is earmarked for developing next-generation AI processors and large-scale computing systems.
Company Financials
Despite its growth prospects, Enflame is not yet profitable. The company reported a net loss of 1.16 billion yuan in 2025, even as its revenue grew 37% to 990.2 million yuan.
Tencent remains a key strategic partner, holding a 17.95% stake following the IPO. The tech giant is also Enflame's largest customer, accounting for 83.79% of its revenue in 2025, according to the source material.
