DoorDash to Add 3,000 Jobs with New Tech Hub in Hyderabad, India

Summary
The U.S. food delivery company is expanding its global footprint by establishing a new technology center in Hyderabad, aiming to hire 3,000 employees over two years as part of a broader corporate trend.
U.S. food delivery firm DoorDash (NYSE: DASH) announced it will create 3,000 jobs over the next two years through a new global technology hub in Hyderabad, India. The move marks a significant expansion of the company's offshore operations, aligning with a broader strategy by multinational corporations to leverage global talent pools to manage costs.
Hyderabad Hub Details
The Telangana state government confirmed the development on Wednesday, stating that the new center will initially hire 500 professionals. The facility will begin by housing teams focused on customer support and general and administrative functions.
This will be DoorDash's third global customer support hub, complementing its existing operations in Tempe, Arizona, and Mexico City. The Hyderabad office is the company's second technology center in India, following its acquisition of robotics startup Chowbotics in 2021, which established a presence in Pune for software, data, and analytics.
Strategic Rationale and Market Context
AdDoorDash's expansion is part of a growing corporate trend of establishing Global Capability Centers (GCCs), which are offshore hubs designed to cut operational costs and reduce dependency on external IT contractors.
Hyderabad has become a popular destination for such centers. In recent months, other major U.S. companies have also established a presence in the city, including:
- Costco
- McDonald’s
- Charles Schwab
- Marriott
- Southwest Airlines
According to a 2026 report from Nasscom-Zinnov, India is the world's largest GCC hub, with over 2,100 centers employing approximately 2.36 million people and generating nearly $100 billion in revenue.
