Background

Digital asset infrastructure provider Taurus and secure hosting firm MPCH have announced a partnership to build out a U.S.-based deployment infrastructure for institutional-grade cryptocurrency custody. The collaboration aims to address the growing demand from U.S. financial institutions for onshore digital asset solutions that comply with local regulatory and security standards.

Onshore Custody Solution

The agreement will establish a dedicated deployment environment for Taurus's custody platform within MPCH's high-security facilities in the United States. Under the terms, MPCH will provide a secured physical area and managed infrastructure services for Taurus's platform, which is built on Hardware Security Modules (HSMs).

Taurus will retain full control of its proprietary HSM technology and cryptographic operations. This arrangement provides the company with a domestic physical deployment option, crucial for clients with strict U.S. infrastructure requirements.

Meeting Institutional Demand

The partnership is designed to serve U.S.-based banks, custodians, exchanges, corporations, and government agencies that require digital asset infrastructure to be hosted domestically. This directly addresses key institutional needs around data residency, operational resilience, and infrastructure sovereignty.

"Financial institutions need the flexibility to deploy digital asset infrastructure in a way that meets their specific security, resilience, and regulatory requirements," said Milena Kohlhofer, strategic partnerships executive at Taurus. Miles Parry, CEO of MPCH, added that trusted infrastructure is essential for the continued acceleration of institutional adoption of digital assets.

Security and Future-Proofing

The planned infrastructure will incorporate several enterprise-grade features to ensure security and reliability. Key components include:

  • Geographically separated disaster recovery sites
  • Enterprise-grade physical security protocols
  • A resilient and secure network architecture

The companies also highlighted the platform's readiness for post-quantum cryptography. The use of tier-one HSMs allows for the support of certain post-quantum signature algorithms, enabling institutions to test emerging cryptographic standards without overhauling their entire custody architecture. Specific timelines for the deployment and service availability have not been disclosed.
