Sogni AI Launches $20 Unlimited Plan, Leveraging Decentralized GPU Network

Summary

The creative AI firm is introducing a 'fair-use unlimited' subscription that runs on a community-operated GPU network, a move that counters the industry trend of capping AI generation to manage costs.

Background

Sogni AI has launched a $20 per month 'fair-use' unlimited subscription for its creative AI platform, a move that directly challenges an industry trend of major providers capping or eliminating such offerings. The plan is powered by the Sogni Supernet, a decentralized network of community-operated graphics processing units (GPUs).

A New Subscription Model

The Singapore-based company announced its new plan provides credit-free generation for over 100 open-source and open-weight models, covering image, video, music, and language model workflows. The subscription is priced at $20 per month or $199 per year.

Key details of the offering include:

  • A higher-tier 'Unlimited Pro' plan is available for $50 per month, offering larger queues and higher processing priority.
  • The 'fair-use' policy means that exceptionally heavy, sustained workloads may be queued during periods of high demand.
  • Three premium, licensed partner models will remain on a pay-as-you-go basis, separate from the unlimited plan.

Decentralized Infrastructure and Revenue Share

Sogni's business model differs from competitors that rely on centralized cloud infrastructure. The platform's computational power is provided by a network of independent operators running consumer-grade GPUs. According to the company, 51% of net subscription revenue is distributed to these operators in proportion to the rendering work they complete.

This structure is designed to make an unlimited offering sustainable by scaling compute expenses directly with subscription revenue. "Unlimited creative AI has been difficult to sustain because generation costs rise directly with usage," said Mauvis Ledford, CEO and co-founder of Sogni AI. "Sogni was designed the other way around... Fair-use unlimited is not a promotion — it is what this architecture was built to do."

Market Context

The launch comes as several centralized AI platforms have reduced or discontinued unlimited-generation plans since late 2024, citing the high costs of computation. Sogni AI, founded by former CoinMarketCap executives, aims to provide a more sustainable alternative.

The company's Supernet has been live for one year and has powered more than 158 million creations since its testnet launch in 2024, according to the announcement.
