Plus500 Shares Rally After Fintech Firm Boosts Full-Year Outlook

Shares of Plus500 (LSE:PLUS) surged after the global multi-asset fintech group upgraded its full-year forecast, citing strong operational momentum and robust third-quarter financial results. The company announced that it now expects 2026 revenue and underlying earnings to be ahead of current market expectations.
Strong Q3 Performance
In a Q3 trading update, Plus500 reported an 11% increase in revenue to $203 million for the three months ending September 30. The company's earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) rose 7% to $88 million, resulting in a healthy EBITDA margin of 44%.
The growth was supported by solid customer metrics and improved marketing efficiency. Key operational highlights for the quarter include:
- New Customers: Increased by 27% to 28,747.
- Active Customers: Rose 4% to 119,528.
- Average Revenue Per User (ARPU): Climbed 7% to $1,700.
- Average Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC): Fell 14% to $1,150.
Strategic Initiatives and Shareholder Returns
AdPlus500 is also advancing its strategic expansion into new markets and product lines. The company highlighted new B2B partnerships with Wealthsimple and Nelogica, as well as the introduction of CFTC-regulated prediction market contracts in the U.S. and single stock futures. Acquisitions of broker-dealers Hedge and Guru are set to support its expansion in the U.S. and Brazil, with a new U.S. multi-asset trading app planned for launch in the first quarter of 2027.
The company's financial position remains strong, ending the quarter with over $775 million in cash and no debt. During the period, Plus500 returned significant capital to shareholders, paying $87 million in dividends and completing approximately $64 million in share buybacks.
Market Reaction
In response to the upbeat report, Plus500's stock gained 4.6% to trade at 3,442.67 pence. The move stood in contrast to the broader London market, where the FTSE 250 index, of which Plus500 is a member, was trading lower. This indicates that the rally was driven specifically by the company's positive financial update and improved outlook, giving investors confidence in its growth trajectory.
