Hawkins Stock Surges After Smashing Q2 Profit and Sales Estimates

Shares of Hawkins, Inc. (HWKN) jumped 8.0% in after-hours trading after the specialty chemicals firm announced record-setting financial results for its second quarter of fiscal 2027, beating Wall Street estimates on both profit and revenue.
Record Quarterly Performance
Hawkins reported a comprehensive earnings beat, setting new company records for key financial metrics. The results were driven by strong performance across its business lines, according to the company's latest earnings release.
- Adjusted Diluted EPS: Came in at $1.34, surpassing the consensus analyst estimate of $1.19.
- Revenue: Grew 12% year-over-year to $313.8 million, exceeding the $302.7 million forecast.
- Net Income: Increased 23% to $27.8 million.
- Adjusted EBITDA: Rose 16% to a record $59.1 million.
Broad-Based Growth and Strategic Execution
AdThe company's outperformance was supported by growth in all three of its operating segments. The Water Treatment division, its largest, saw revenue increase by 16% and gross profit jump by 20%. The Industrial Solutions and Food & Health Sciences segments also posted revenue gains of 10% and 5%, respectively.
Alongside the strong earnings, Hawkins demonstrated a continued commitment to capital returns and strategic growth. The company's board declared a quarterly cash dividend of $0.20 per share, extending an uninterrupted streak of payments since 1985. Hawkins also repurchased $12 million of its stock and completed the acquisition of water treatment distributor Dave Symonds & Associates.
Market Reaction
The positive earnings report was a company-specific catalyst, pushing shares to $146.25 in extended trading from their regular-session close of $135.44. The move came against a flat market backdrop, with the S&P 500 and Dow Jones Industrial Average showing little change, underscoring that the surge was driven entirely by Hawkins' fundamental performance rather than a broader market trend.
