Electra Therapeutics Targets Up to $977.6 Million Valuation in Nasdaq IPO

Drug developer Electra Therapeutics is targeting a valuation of up to $977.6 million in its U.S. initial public offering, according to a regulatory filing on Monday. The company's move adds to a recent resurgence in biotech listings, even as the broader IPO market remains cautious amid macroeconomic uncertainty.
Offering Details
The South San Francisco-based company is seeking to raise as much as $346.7 million from the offering. Electra Therapeutics plans to list its shares on the Nasdaq exchange under the ticker symbol **"ETRA."
Key figures from the filing include:
- Shares Offered: Approximately 21.67 million
- Price Range: $14 to $16 per share
- Underwriters: The offering is being managed by a syndicate of banks including Jefferies, TD Cowen, Evercore ISI, and Cantor.
Clinical Pipeline and Use of Proceeds
AdElectra Therapeutics is a late-clinical-stage company focused on developing therapies for immunological diseases and cancer by targeting signal regulatory proteins. Its lead experimental drug, ipsoprubart, is designed to treat secondary hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (sHLH), a severe condition where the immune system becomes dangerously overactive.
The drug is currently in a global study intended to support regulatory approval. According to the filing, proceeds from the IPO will be used to fund clinical trials for ipsoprubart, advance its second drug candidate, ELA822, and for working capital and other general corporate purposes.
Market Context
The planned listing comes during a period of mixed signals for the IPO market. While biotech offerings have seen a broad rebound this year, the typically busy fall IPO window has been slower than in previous years due to market volatility and economic headwinds. Electra's IPO will be a key test of investor appetite for late-stage biotechnology assets in the current environment.
