Background

Cryptocurrency exchange Bybit has expanded its Proof-of-Reserves (PoR) reporting to cover 50 digital assets, according to a company announcement on July 30. The firm's 38th PoR report shows key assets are fully collateralized, with the total value of covered mainstream assets exceeding $16.5 billion.

Report Highlights and Asset Expansion

The latest report, which reflects asset balances as of July 22, 2026, incorporates 10 additional tokens to enhance platform transparency. The newly included assets are GRAM, XAUT, HYPE, STABLE, ENA, ARB, ASTER, ONDO, AAVE, and USD1.

Bybit stated that its selection process prioritizes tokens with the highest assets under management (AUM) on its platform. This expansion covers the 50 highest-AUM tokens available to its users.

Key Reserve Ratios

The disclosure, which was independently verified by blockchain security firm Hacken, confirmed that Bybit's reserves for major cryptocurrencies exceed its user liabilities. A reserve ratio above 100% indicates that user deposits are fully backed by on-chain assets held by the exchange.

  • USDT: 105% reserve ratio (~$4.98 billion in holdings vs. ~$4.71 billion in user assets)
  • USDC: 174% reserve ratio (~$1.09 billion in holdings vs. ~$626.4 million in user assets)
  • BTC: 104% reserve ratio (59,064 BTC in holdings vs. 56,438 BTC in user assets)
  • ETH: 102% reserve ratio (553,776 ETH in holdings vs. 541,412 ETH in user assets)

Market Significance

Proof-of-Reserves reporting has become a critical industry standard for centralized cryptocurrency exchanges seeking to build trust and demonstrate solvency. These attestations provide a verifiable snapshot of an exchange's financial health, offering assurance to both retail and institutional clients that their funds are secure.

By regularly publishing these independently verified reports, exchanges aim to provide greater visibility into their asset custody and overall financial position, a key consideration for investors in the digital asset market.
