Bloom Energy Stock Surges on Analyst Upgrades, AI Data Center Demand

Shares of Bloom Energy Corp. (BE) surged on Tuesday, reversing a recent post-earnings selloff as renewed analyst conviction and a research note highlighting the company's strategic position in powering artificial intelligence infrastructure bolstered investor sentiment.
The stock climbed 8.7% in morning trading to reach $221.60, according to Investing.com data.
AI Power Gap Fuels Rally
A key catalyst for the rebound was a research note from Morgan Stanley, which spotlighted the growing energy demands of AI. The firm estimated the U.S. AI data center net power gap will reach 38 gigawatts between 2026 and 2028.
The note explicitly identified Bloom Energy's fuel cells as one of five key strategies to mitigate this power shortfall. This narrative provides a significant structural tailwind for the company, positioning it as a critical supplier for the buildout of AI infrastructure.
Analysts Overlook Cash Flow Concerns
The rally marks a sharp reversal from last week, when the stock fell despite the company reporting record third-quarter results. Bloom announced Q3 2026 revenue of $1.24 billion, a 138% year-over-year increase that beat consensus estimates by about 17%. Adjusted earnings per share of $0.94 also surpassed forecasts by approximately 36%.
AdDespite the strong top and bottom-line performance, investors initially focused on negative quarterly free cash flow. However, analysts are now arguing that the selloff was an overreaction, pointing to management's third consecutive upward revision to its full-year 2026 revenue guidance. The company now expects revenue between $4.4 billion and $4.6 billion, implying roughly 122% year-over-year growth at the midpoint.
Wall Street Price Targets Rise
A chorus of bullish analyst updates amplified the stock's recovery. The renewed confidence was reflected in several price target increases:
- Evercore ISI reiterated its Outperform rating and a $350 price target.
- Bernstein SocGen raised its price target to $306.
- Barclays lifted its target to $316.
- Wells Fargo increased its target to $182.
A supportive broader market also provided a lift, with the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite trading higher amid continued enthusiasm for AI-related stocks.
