Background

Crypto brokerage PrimeXBT has launched "Tokenised Stocks," a new category of crypto futures that provide traders with exposure to the price movements of several major U.S. companies. The new instruments, announced on October 27, allow for trading on the prices of firms like Tesla, NVIDIA, and SpaceX using USDT-denominated contracts on the firm's PXTrader 2.0 platform.

New Offerings Bridge Crypto and Equities

The newly introduced products allow traders to take long or short positions on the price action of the associated companies around the clock, including outside of traditional stock exchange hours. PrimeXBT emphasized that these contracts provide exposure to company-linked price movements without conferring ownership of the underlying shares.

The initial set of seven tokenized stock futures includes:

  • SpaceX (SPCX/USDT)
  • NVIDIA (NVDA/USDT)
  • Tesla (TSLA/USDT)
  • Circle (CRCL/USDT)
  • Apple (AAPL/USDT)
  • Alphabet (GOOGL/USDT)
  • Robinhood (HOOD/USDT)

Market Rationale and Context

According to the company, the launch aims to give crypto traders access to trends in the traditional equity markets. "Big Tech remains at the centre of market attention, with AI investment, corporate earnings and growth expectations driving sentiment across global equities," stated Jonatan Randin, Senior Market Analyst at PrimeXBT, in the announcement.

This development reflects a growing convergence between traditional finance and digital asset markets, enabling crypto-focused investors to speculate on significant events like corporate earnings seasons through a familiar trading interface. PrimeXBT also expanded its platform with other crypto futures, new Crypto CFDs, and added support for Arbitrum, Optimism, and Base networks.

Fee Structure

PrimeXBT detailed the fee structure for its crypto futures, which are set at 0.01% for makers and 0.045% for takers. The firm noted that traders can receive discounts on these fees through a volume-based VIP program.
