Bitget Wallet Integrates Fiat Accounts with Automatic Stablecoin Conversion

Bitget Wallet is introducing personal U.S. dollar and euro accounts directly within its self-custodial crypto wallet, a feature that automatically converts incoming fiat deposits into stablecoins. The move aims to create a more seamless bridge between traditional financial systems and the digital asset economy for its global user base.
Feature Details
The new service, called "Virtual Account," is provided through a partnership with stablecoin payments firm Noah. It enables users to receive funds via traditional payment rails, including ACH, Fedwire, SEPA, and SWIFT, directly to personalized account numbers.
Upon receipt, the fiat deposits are automatically converted into either USDT or USDC, two of the largest stablecoins by market capitalization. According to the announcement, opening these accounts is free and does not require local residency. The converted stablecoins can then be used across the wallet's suite of services, including payments, transfers, and investment products.
Targeting Global Payments
Bitget Wallet is targeting several key use cases with this launch, including cross-border workers paid by U.S. or European employers and individuals in emerging markets receiving remittances. The service also provides a streamlined on-ramp for users looking to convert fiat into stablecoins without using a centralized crypto exchange.
AdThe company highlighted the potential cost savings for users. A $500 ACH transfer is expected to incur approximately $2 in fees, which compares favorably to the global average remittance cost of around 6%, according to World Bank data.
Industry Context and Limitations
This launch reflects a broader trend of crypto wallets expanding their functionality to include bank-like services as the adoption of stablecoins for payments and transfers grows. With a reported user base of over 100 million, Bitget Wallet's new feature could significantly impact this space.
Initially, the Virtual Accounts will only support incoming transfers. The company stated that outbound transfer capabilities are planned for release in the coming months, which would further enhance the feature's utility as a comprehensive financial tool.
