Bernstein Adds Six European SMID-Cap Stocks to Q3 Top Picks Portfolio

Bernstein has updated its European small- and mid-cap (SMID) top picks portfolio for the third quarter, introducing six new companies that the firm says offer a compelling mix of attractive valuations, company-specific catalysts, and earnings growth potential over the next six to 18 months.
The investment firm's new additions span several sectors, from medical technology and consumer appliances to entertainment and semiconductors. The companies added are Convatec, Groupe SEB, CTS Eventim, GTT, TAG Immobilien, and X-FAB.
Company-Specific Catalysts
Bernstein provided a specific rationale for each new addition, highlighting key drivers that it believes will unlock value for investors.
Convatec (CTEC)
Bernstein described the medical products maker as a turnaround story with sustainable revenue growth and margin expansion ahead. Analysts cited improving execution and operational enhancements as key to future earnings growth. The firm rates the stock "outperform" with a 27% upside potential, making it the second-highest conviction idea in the portfolio.
Groupe SEB (SEBF)
For the French appliance manufacturer, Bernstein pointed to its "Rebound Plan" as a clear roadmap for restoring profitability. The plan targets at least 5% organic sales growth and operating margins of around 10%, supported by €200 million in recurring annual cost savings by 2027.
CTS Eventim (EVDG)
AdFollowing a 27% year-to-date decline in the ticketing company's stock, Bernstein argued that investor concerns have been amplified by weak communication rather than poor fundamentals. The firm expects an upcoming Capital Markets Day to provide greater clarity and restore confidence.
GTT (GTT)
Bernstein named the LNG containment systems designer its top pick for the third quarter, anticipating consensus earnings upgrades for 2028-31. The brokerage highlighted strong commercial momentum, with 63 orders year-to-date worth approximately €550 million, and robust long-term demand for LNG carriers.
TAG Immobilien (TEGG)
As its preferred German residential property stock, Bernstein noted that TAG Immobilien's expansion into Poland provides a differentiated growth driver. Analysts believe the company can perform even if German bond yields remain elevated.
X-FAB (XFAB)
Bernstein added the specialty semiconductor foundry based on an expected cyclical recovery in the automotive sector starting in the second half of 2026. The firm also sees underappreciated structural growth drivers in silicon carbide, gallium nitride, and photonics technologies that are not yet fully reflected in consensus expectations.
