Zama Token Lists on Revolut, Expanding Access to On-Chain Privacy Tools

Zama, a protocol that develops confidentiality solutions for public blockchains, announced Tuesday that its native token, $ZAMA, is now available for trading on the European fintech platform Revolut. The listing makes the token accessible to Revolut's more than 70 million customers across the European Economic Area (EEA).
A Push for Mainstream Privacy
The listing represents a strategic effort to bring the concept of on-chain privacy to a broader, non-specialist audience. According to the announcement, over 15 million of Revolut's users already trade cryptocurrencies on the platform. Zama aims to address the inherent transparency of public blockchains, where account balances and transaction histories are typically exposed by default.
"Privacy is something people expect everywhere else in their financial lives, but onchain they simply haven’t been able to have it," said Dr. Rand Hindi, Co-founder and CEO of Zama. "Listing $ZAMA on Revolut is a long-term investment in reaching people well beyond today’s crypto users, because privacy only becomes real when it is available to everyone."
Zama's technology utilizes Fully Homomorphic Encryption (FHE), a cryptographic method that allows for computation on encrypted data. This enables confidentiality for assets on existing public blockchains like Ethereum without requiring users to migrate to a separate, specialized privacy chain.
Platform Features and Education
AdFor Revolut customers, the integration is designed to be seamless, offering a simplified entry point into a privacy-focused digital asset. The company highlighted several key features for users in the EEA:
- Direct Access: Users can buy and hold $ZAMA within the Revolut app without needing new accounts or know-your-customer (KYC) procedures.
- Low Fees: Trading fees start from 0%, with funding available directly from a user's fiat balance on Revolut.
- Self-Custody Option: The platform supports on-chain withdrawals, allowing users to transfer their $ZAMA tokens to a personal self-custody wallet.
To further engage its user base, Zama and Revolut plan to launch a "Learn & Earn" campaign later this year. The initiative will educate users on the importance of blockchain privacy and reward them for their participation, a model Revolut has previously used to promote other crypto networks.
Market Context
The listing on a major consumer fintech app signals a move for advanced privacy technologies from the research and development phase toward practical, real-world applications. Zama noted that this development follows recent deployments of its technology in areas such as confidential lending and real-world asset tokenization, suggesting growing demand for privacy solutions within the digital asset ecosystem.
