Unitree Robotics Stock Surges on JPMorgan Upgrade, Accelerated AI Outlook

Shares of Unitree Robotics, which trades as Yushu Technology, surged 16.2% to a two-month high of 725 CNY on Monday. The rally was ignited by a landmark double ratings upgrade from JPMorgan, which dramatically increased its valuation of the Hangzhou-based robotics leader.
JPMorgan Cites Accelerated AI Timeline
JPMorgan upgraded Unitree to Overweight from Underweight and raised its price target to RMB995 from a previous RMB300, more than tripling its prior valuation. The bank's reassessment followed the 2026 World Physical AI Conference held on October 22.
At the event, Unitree CEO and founder Wang Xingxing stated that the sector’s defining inflection point for physical AI could arrive within one to three years. According to Investing.com, JPMorgan described this forecast as "significantly earlier" than its prior estimate of up to a decade, serving as the primary catalyst for the upgrade.
Production Milestones and Investor Confidence
The analyst upgrade amplified existing positive sentiment. The stock's move was supported by growing institutional interest and recent company disclosures that reinforce its technology roadmap.
AdSeveral factors contributed to the momentum:
- Data showed net institutional buying of RMB 241 million in the stock on October 23 alone.
- Unitree disclosed that its G1 humanoid robot has reached cumulative production of 10,000 to 20,000 units, which the company claims makes it the world’s best-selling humanoid robot.
- The company also demonstrated a GPT-6-powered robot completing tasks with no prior training, bolstering confidence in its technological progress.
Market Context
Unitree's significant gains on Monday stood out against a flat performance in broader mainland Chinese markets. Investors are also looking ahead to the company's upcoming earnings release, scheduled for October 29, which is adding to the anticipatory momentum in the stock.
