Unitree Robotics Stock Jumps After JPMorgan Double-Upgrade on AI Optimism

Shares of Unitree Robotics (Yushu Technology Co., Ltd) surged on Monday after JPMorgan issued a significant double-upgrade and sharply increased its price target for the company. The bank's renewed optimism follows positive developments from a major robotics conference held last week in Hangzhou, China.
JPMorgan's Bullish Reversal
JPMorgan analysts upgraded Unitree's stock two notches to Overweight from a previous Underweight rating. The bank also raised its price target on the stock to 995 yuan from 300 yuan, representing an increase of over 230%. According to the report, the new target implies approximately 20% upside from the stock's closing price on Friday.
The revised stance was prompted by key takeaways from the 2026 World Physical AI Conference. JPMorgan noted that the event helped reverse its initially cautious view on the robotics developer.
Accelerated AI Timeline Drives Optimism
The upgrade's primary catalyst was an accelerated timeline for a physical AI breakthrough announced by Unitree CEO Wang Xingxing. He now projects a major advance within one to two years, a dramatic reduction from previous estimates of up to 10 years. JPMorgan's analysts said this shift is driven by rapid progress in AI, which has moved the industry's main bottleneck from AI reasoning capabilities to real-world physical applications.
AdReflecting this accelerated adoption curve, JPMorgan also hiked its sales forecasts for Unitree. The bank's projections for 2028 and 2030 imply the company could capture between 10% and 20% of the global market share.
Market Reaction and Context
In response to the news, Unitree's stock (SS:688836) jumped nearly 11% to 693.50 yuan, its highest level in two months. The rally significantly outpaced the flat performance of broader Chinese benchmarks like the Shanghai Composite and CSI 300 indexes.
Unitree, considered one of China's most advanced humanoid robotics developers, went public in a high-profile offering in August. However, its shares have struggled since the debut amid a wider downturn in technology and AI-related stocks. Last week, the company unveiled a new humanoid "bodyguard" robot based on its H2 platform.
