Monday's trading revealed a stark contrast between U.K. homebuilders and resource-linked companies. Home construction firms were the session's standout performers, posting double-digit gains.

- Barratt Redrow PLC (LON:BTRW) rose 11.72%.
- Taylor Wimpey PLC (LON:TW) gained 11.51%.

In currency markets, the GBP/USD pair was largely unchanged, while the US Dollar Index Futures saw a modest gain of 0.23%.
