- Zenitron Corp (TW:3028), also gaining 10.00% to close at 77.00.
- Mospec Semiconductor Corp (TW:2434), which rose 9.99% to 82.60, also a 5-year high.
AdOn the other end of the spectrum, some companies faced heavy selling pressure. Yeong Guan Energy Technology Group Co Ltd (TW:1589) was the session's worst performer, falling 9.92% to an all-time low of 5.54. It was followed by Excel Cell Electronic Co Ltd (TW:2483), which declined 7.44%.
Currency and Commodity Markets
In foreign exchange markets, the New Taiwan dollar weakened slightly against the U.S. dollar, with the USD/TWD pair rising 0.12% to 32.19. The U.S. Dollar Index Futures also ticked up 0.05%.
Meanwhile, commodity markets saw a slight downturn. August crude oil futures fell 0.30% to $79.36 per barrel, and September Brent oil declined 0.53% to $84.50. Gold futures for August delivery also slipped 0.38%.
