Snowflake Named Top Large-Cap Software Pick by Mizuho on Strong Growth Outlook

Mizuho has named data cloud company Snowflake (SNOW) its top pick among large-cap software stocks, raising its price target following a quarter of significant outperformance and robust forward guidance. The firm's analysis points to strong momentum driven by demand for new artificial intelligence products and sustained enterprise data modernization trends.
Exceptional Growth Drives Upgrade
Mizuho's positive assessment is rooted in Snowflake's recent financial results, which significantly surpassed market expectations. The company reported 37% year-over-year revenue growth, well ahead of the 30.5% consensus forecast from Wall Street analysts, a difference Mizuho noted was a substantial 480 basis points of upside.
The firm highlighted several key performance indicators from the report:
- Q2 FY27 Revenue Growth: 37% year-over-year.
- Q3 FY Product Revenue Guidance: A projection of 37% to 38% YoY growth, which Mizuho described as "materially exceeding" both its own and buy-side expectations.
- Full-Year FY27 Outlook: Snowflake raised its product revenue growth forecast to approximately 36% from a previous estimate of around 30.5%.
Price Target Raised to $425
AdIn light of the strong performance and outlook, Mizuho reiterated its Outperform rating on Snowflake shares and increased its price target to $425 from a previous $355. The investment firm believes that "healthy consumption activity" combined with "secular trends driving enterprises to modernize their data estates" positions Snowflake for sustained momentum.
Mizuho also pointed to emerging growth drivers, including robust demand for new AI products like CoCo and Snowflake CoWork, and an improving go-to-market strategy. Following the strong earnings release, several other analyst firms, including Freedom Broker, Truist Securities, and Monness, Crespi, Hardt, also reportedly raised their price targets on Snowflake.
Context for Investors
The upgrade comes amid a software market where, according to Mizuho's analysis, performance is becoming increasingly differentiated. For investors, this underscores the importance of focusing on companies demonstrating tangible growth and product innovation as key distinguishing factors for investment consideration in the large-cap software space.
