Silvaco Shares Climb on NVIDIA AI Partnership for Chip Design

Summary
Silvaco Group announced a collaboration with NVIDIA to develop AI-powered digital twins for semiconductor design, causing its shares to rise over 6% in premarket trading. The partnership aims to significantly accelerate chip simulation and improve accuracy.
Shares of Silvaco Group Inc. (NASDAQ:SVCO) rose sharply in premarket trading Monday after the company announced a collaboration with NVIDIA to accelerate semiconductor design using artificial intelligence and digital twin technology.
The partnership aims to significantly shorten development cycles and improve the accuracy of chip modeling by creating advanced virtual replicas of semiconductor systems.
Details of the Collaboration
The joint effort will integrate Silvaco’s expertise in physics-based modeling with NVIDIA’s accelerated computing platforms. The goal is to build sophisticated digital twins for predicting and optimizing the performance of semiconductor devices and manufacturing processes.
According to the announcement, the collaboration will leverage several NVIDIA technologies, including:
- NVIDIA CUDA-X libraries and accelerated computing
- NVIDIA PhysicsNeMo for AI-driven surrogate modeling
- NVIDIA Omniverse libraries for visualization
"By combining Silvaco’s deep expertise in semiconductor and multiphysics digital twins with NVIDIA’s industry-leading computing and AI platforms, we can help customers model increasingly complex systems with greater speed, fidelity, and confidence," said Walden C. Rhines, President and CEO of Silvaco.
AdImpact on Chip Simulation
Silvaco anticipates the partnership will reduce complex simulation cycles from weeks to days. As an early demonstration, the company reported completing a 3D simulation with 3.2 billion mesh nodes on 32 NVIDIA GPUs in under four hours. The company noted that the same workload did not converge on CPUs and the result achieved less than a 0.15 dB difference from physical measurements, demonstrating high accuracy.
The solutions are expected to support applications in semiconductor process simulation, AI-assisted chip development, and factory optimization.
Market Reaction
Investors reacted positively to the strategic partnership. Following the announcement, shares of Silvaco jumped 6.4% in premarket trading on Monday.
