Silhouette and xStocks Launch RFQ System for Tokenized Equity Block Trading on Hyperliquid

Silhouette, a block trading layer for the Hyperliquid network, has launched its request-for-quote (RFQ) system on mainnet, introducing a new venue for trading tokenized equities from xStocks. The move is designed to facilitate large, on-chain trades for digital assets representing real-world stocks, particularly those with nascent liquidity.
A New Venue for Illiquid Assets
The launch directly addresses the challenge of low liquidity for newly issued tokenized assets. Many tokenized stocks lack the trading volume to support a traditional, deep order book, which can deter institutional participation. Silhouette's RFQ system provides an immediate execution venue without relying on pre-existing order book liquidity.
According to the announcement, the system functions as a demand layer. Traders can request quotes for any supported tokenized stock, or xStock, and receive competing offers from professional market makers. This allows for price discovery and trade execution even for assets that have not yet proven significant market flow.
"Tokenized stocks keep arriving onchain, and most of them have nowhere to trade," said Chandler De Kock, Founder of Silhouette. "The assets that prove real flow graduate to their own HyperCore markets. Launching with xStocks means starting with the issuer that brought this asset class to Hyperliquid."
How the RFQ System Works
The platform is designed to provide a trading experience familiar to institutional firms while leveraging the benefits of on-chain settlement. The process allows for large trades, known as block trades, to be executed with minimal market impact.
AdThe key features of the system include:
- Quote Requests: Traders submit a request for a quote on any supported xStock.
- Competitive Pricing: Onboarded market makers compete to fill the order, providing multiple quotes.
- On-Chain Settlement: The winning trade is settled directly on the Hyperliquid blockchain, available at any time.
- Privacy: The system separates trader identity, size, and direction from public view during execution to mitigate risks like front-running, according to the company.
Market Implications
This development represents another step in building out the infrastructure for tokenized real-world assets (RWAs), a growing sector in digital finance. By creating a dedicated venue for block trading, the platform aims to attract institutional capital that requires efficient execution for large orders.
Val Gui, General Manager at xStocks, stated that the RFQ venue is the "clearest signal yet that this asset class is ready to trade the way the rest of finance already does." The launch integrates two layers on Hyperliquid: Silhouette for discovering demand via RFQs, and HyperCore's order books for assets that achieve sufficient liquidity. Silhouette is backed by investors including Polychain Capital and RockawayX.
