Mowi Q2 Operational EBIT Jumps 23% on Record Harvests and Lower Costs

Summary
The Norwegian salmon producer reported preliminary Q2 operational EBIT of €231 million, a 23% year-over-year increase, driven by its highest-ever quarterly harvest volume and significant cost reductions.
Norwegian salmon producer Mowi (OSE: MOWI) reported a preliminary 23% year-over-year increase in second-quarter operational earnings, citing record-high harvest volumes and improved cost efficiency.
Record Quarter Driven by Volume
According to a company press release, Mowi's operational earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) reached €231 million. The profit surge was underpinned by the company's highest-ever quarterly harvest, which totaled 150,000 tonnes.
This harvest volume represents a 13% increase compared to the same period in the prior year, signaling strong operational performance and capacity.
AdCost Efficiencies Boost Profitability
A key contributor to the improved profitability was a notable reduction in farming costs. Mowi reported its blended farming cost per kilogram fell to €5.21, down from €5.39 in the second quarter of 2025.
The company stated this efficiency gain lowered its overall expenses by a total of €24 million during the quarter, directly bolstering its bottom line. The preliminary announcement did not provide forward-looking guidance for future quarters or the full year.
