Monero Swap Platform Wagyu.xyz Tops $700M in Volume, Opens API to Developers

Summary
Cross-chain swap platform Wagyu.xyz announced it has surpassed $700 million in cumulative transaction volume since its January launch and has released a public API for developers to build on its infrastructure.
Wagyu.xyz, a cross-chain platform for swapping native Monero (XMR), announced Tuesday it has processed over $700 million in cumulative transaction volume. The milestone was reached approximately seven months after the service's launch in January 2026, and coincides with the general availability of its public API for third-party developers.
Rapid Growth in Niche Market
The company reported the $700 million figure represents total volume across all its supported trading routes since its inception. This follows earlier reports of the platform, which was valued at $50 million in an early-stage financing round, processing $10 million in user withdrawals within its first two weeks.
Wagyu.xyz's growth occurs as access to Monero has become increasingly restricted on major centralized exchanges. In recent years, Binance has removed XMR spot pairs, OKX has delisted the asset, and Kraken suspended XMR trading for clients in the European Economic Area, citing regulatory pressures. The closure of peer-to-peer venue LocalMonero further narrowed access, creating a market gap for services providing XMR liquidity.
A Differentiated Execution Model
Unlike many instant-swap services that quote prices from their own inventory, Wagyu.xyz routes all orders to Hyperliquid's on-chain orderbook. This model allows professional market makers to compete on price, with the transaction spread determined by market conditions rather than being set by the platform operator.
AdThe platform facilitates swaps for native XMR on the Monero blockchain. According to the company, the median settlement time is approximately 5.5 minutes, with a compliance architecture that screens transactions prior to execution. Deposits that do not pass screening are returned to the sender, a process the company says avoids issues where user funds are frozen post-deposit pending compliance reviews.
Public API for Wholesale Distribution
The newly launched public API allows third-party developers to integrate Wagyu.xyz's infrastructure into their own applications, such as wallets or regionally focused swap interfaces. The API provides tools for asset discovery, price quoting, and order tracking.
By opening its backend, the company is positioning the platform as a wholesale distribution channel. This allows other services to offer Monero swaps without needing to manage their own inventory, treasury operations, or cross-chain bridge infrastructure.
