Mobileye Global founder Amnon Shashua plans to step down as Chief Executive Officer once a successor is appointed, the company announced Thursday. The autonomous driving technology maker also reported second-quarter revenue that surpassed analyst expectations, sending its shares higher in premarket trading.

Leadership Transition

Mobileye said its board has launched a search for its next leader and will hire an executive search firm to aid in the selection process. Shashua will continue to serve as CEO until a new appointment is made.

Upon the transition, Shashua will remain a director on the company's board. According to the announcement, he has also been offered the role of chairman once his successor is in place.

The leadership news coincided with the release of Mobileye's second-quarter financial results. The company posted revenue of $508 million, exceeding LSEG analyst estimates of $481.24 million.

In a statement, Shashua attributed the performance to "strong momentum" in the company’s core business. Investors reacted positively to the combined news, with Mobileye shares (MBLY) climbing 8% in premarket trading on Thursday.

Company Outlook

The stronger-than-expected results come as Mobileye prepares for a series of advanced product launches scheduled for late 2026 and throughout 2027. The company indicated this upcoming product pipeline is a key driver of its current business momentum.
