Marvell Technology Shares Climb After Raising Revenue Forecast on AI Boom

Shares of Marvell Technology (NASDAQ:MRVL) have rallied sharply, climbing 11.7% since the start of September, after the company significantly boosted its long-term revenue guidance on the back of surging demand for artificial intelligence infrastructure.
Upgraded Forecast Drives Rally
In a Wednesday interview with CNBC, Marvell CEO Matt Murphy provided a substantially upgraded financial outlook. The company now projects revenue of approximately $12 billion in 2026, a 20% increase from its prior target of $10 billion. The forecast for 2027 was raised to $18 billion, up from a previous estimate of $13.5 billion.
Murphy highlighted the explosive growth in the company's data center business, which he expects to grow from $2 billion in 2023 to over $15 billion next year. He described Marvell's market position as "the Switzerland" of AI computing, noting its ability to partner with all major hyperscale cloud providers and GPU platforms.
Market Reaction and Analyst Outlook
Investors responded positively to the revised guidance, sending Marvell's stock up approximately 4.3% to close near $235.01 on Wednesday. The recent gains have pushed the stock's year-to-date performance to over 160%, bringing its market capitalization to about $206 billion, according to the source.
AdWall Street analysts moved quickly to update their models following the news. Key updates included:
- Craig-Hallum raised its price target on the stock to $300.
- B. Riley reiterated its Buy rating with a $315 price target.
The consensus rating among analysts is a Buy, with an average price target of approximately $296, suggesting further potential upside from current levels.
Context: AI Chip Demand
The move reflects a broader market theme of intense investor interest in companies powering the build-out of AI infrastructure. Separately, Marvell announced it will showcase new AI-focused data center products, including switching silicon and optical interconnects, at the upcoming AI Infra Summit 2026. The optimism extends to peers like AMD, which also saw its stock rise after reiterating its own AI demand outlook at a recent industry conference.
