Background

Maase DRC (MAAS) shares gained 3.4% in morning trading, defying a broader market downturn after its subsidiary secured its largest single contract for high-performance computing services to date.

Landmark Contract Details

The company announced that its subsidiary, Huarong Future (Sichuan) Technology Co., Ltd., has entered into a twelve-month computing services agreement with Beijing VirtAI Technology Co., Ltd. The deal carries a total value of RMB 76.8 million, equivalent to approximately $10.8 million.

Under the agreement, Huarong Future will supply enterprise-grade infrastructure capable of delivering over 450 petaflops of FP16 computing power. This contract represents the most significant single deal the company has disclosed, signaling a major step in scaling its AI-focused operations.

Building Commercial Momentum

This high-value contract builds on a recent pattern of successful deal-making for Maase's AI computing divisions. The announcement follows several smaller agreements in the past month:

  • A RMB 14.76 million computing services contract signed two weeks ago.
  • Three separate AI token-based services agreements totaling RMB 23.52 million disclosed last week.

The substantially larger scale of the VirtAI deal suggests that Maase is successfully attracting more sophisticated, high-value enterprise clients as it expands its high-performance computing business.

Defying Broader Market Weakness

Maase's stock rally was particularly notable given the negative performance of major U.S. indices. The S&P 500, Dow Jones Industrial Average, and NASDAQ Composite were all trading lower, weighed down by investor caution ahead of the Federal Reserve's interest rate decision and rising oil prices.

The stock's advance highlights the market's positive reaction to a strong, company-specific catalyst. The move pushed the share price toward the session high of $17.00, well above its opening price of $16.41, though it remains below its 52-week peak of $24.90.
