Israel's TA 35 Index Closes Down 1.22% on Broad Sector Weakness

Israeli stocks finished lower at the close of trading on Thursday, with the benchmark TA 35 index falling 1.22%. The decline was driven by broad-based selling pressure, particularly concentrated in the Real Estate, Technology, and Insurance sectors, according to market data from Investing.com.
Market Performance Breakdown
The negative sentiment was widespread across the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange, where falling stocks significantly outnumbered advancing ones by a margin of 357 to 113, while 89 stocks ended the session unchanged. This indicates a lack of investor conviction and broad selling activity rather than isolated weakness.
Among the index's worst performers were:
- OPC Energy Ltd (TASE:OPCE), which dropped 5.73%.
- Kenon Holdings Ltd (TASE:KEN), declining 5.39%.
- Next Vision Stabilized Systems (TASE:NXSN), which fell 4.38%.
Pockets of Strength
AdDespite the overall market downturn, a few companies managed to post gains. Defense electronics company Elbit Systems Ltd (TASE:ESLT) was a notable outperformer, rising 2.61%.
Other gainers on the TA 35 index included Palo Alto Networks Inc (TASE:CYBR), which added 2.07%, and Delek Group (TASE:DLEKG), which edged up 0.21%.
Commodities and Currencies
In the broader financial markets, energy prices surged, with Crude Oil futures for October delivery climbing 3.95% to $99.84 a barrel and Brent oil for November delivery rising 4.05%. In contrast, the December Gold Futures contract fell 1.39%.
