CR Double-Crane Secures Chinese Approval for Neurosurgery Irrigation Solution

CR Double-Crane Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (600062.SH) has received regulatory approval from China's National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) for its new neurosurgical product, according to a company announcement.
The Shanghai-listed firm was issued a Drug Registration Certificate for its Compound Dextrose/Electrolyte Cranial Surgery Irrigation Solution.
Product and Indications
The newly approved product is a sterile solution designed for use during complex surgical procedures. According to the NMPA certificate, its approved indications include:
- Cleansing during cranial drilling and craniotomy surgeries.
- Irrigation during surgical procedures for spinal diseases.
- Perfusion during neuroendoscopic surgery.
AdThis approval allows CR Double-Crane to manufacture and market the specialized solution within China, expanding its portfolio in the hospital and surgical care segment.
Regulatory Significance
Crucially, the company stated that receiving the Drug Registration Certificate is considered equivalent to passing China's consistency evaluation. This is a key regulatory milestone for generic drugs in the country, intended to ensure their quality and efficacy are bioequivalent to the originator product.
Passing this evaluation is often a prerequisite for a drug to be included in China's volume-based procurement (VBP) programs. This can significantly enhance a product's market access and sales potential within the public healthcare system.
