Cooper Companies Stock Plunges 18% After-Hours on Weak Guidance, Canceled Sale

Cooper Companies (COO) saw its stock plummet 18% in after-hours trading after announcing its board of directors had voted to retain its CooperSurgical division, concluding a strategic review that began in December 2025. The decision was coupled with a disappointing financial forecast that overshadowed a third-quarter earnings beat.
Post-Earnings Decliners
Cooper Companies issued guidance for its fourth quarter and the full year that fell short of analyst expectations. The company projected:
- Q4 EPS: $1.05–$1.09, versus a consensus estimate of $1.19.
- Full-Year Revenue: $4.229–$4.252 billion, compared to the $4.31 billion expected by analysts.
American Eagle Outfitters (AEO) shares fell 12% in post-market activity. The decline occurred despite the retailer reporting second-quarter results that beat analyst estimates on both revenue and earnings per share. The company's strong results, driven by a 25% revenue surge at its Aerie and OFFLINE brands, were seemingly offset by investor profit-taking and potential concerns over gross margin pressures at its namesake American Eagle brand.
AdNavan, Inc. (NAVN), a business software company, dropped 11% even after reporting a second-quarter earnings beat and raising its full-year revenue guidance. The sell-off was attributed to investors capitalizing on the stock's recent gains amid broader valuation pressure on technology stocks.
Strategic Moves and Upward Movers
In contrast, shares of defense contractor AeroVironment (AVAV) rose 3%. The company reported a strong first-quarter adjusted EPS of $0.59, significantly ahead of the $0.29 consensus. AeroVironment also reaffirmed its full-year revenue guidance, citing sustained international demand for its uncrewed aircraft systems.
Toro Corp. (TORO) gained 4% after the maritime energy company announced plans for a strategic spin-off. The company intends to separate its liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) carrier fleet into an independent, publicly traded entity named AI Okto Corp. The move is designed to unlock shareholder value by creating a pure-play investment in the LPG transport sector.
