CoinMarketCap Integrates Real-World Asset Data into Pro API

Crypto data aggregator CoinMarketCap has expanded its Pro API to include data on real-world assets (RWAs), providing developers with a single source for information on tokenized traditional financial instruments. The company announced the launch of a new suite of seven RWA endpoints that are now available.
The move aims to streamline access to the growing market for tokenized assets, which represent traditional financial instruments like stocks or bonds on a blockchain. This integration allows developers to access data for both crypto-native assets and tokenized RWAs through a single API connection.
New Endpoints for Tokenized Assets
The newly launched endpoints provide programmatic access to data across a range of tokenized asset classes, including:
- Equities and Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs)
- Commodities and Currencies
- Government Securities
- Real Estate
The API endpoints are designed to cover the full data lifecycle, offering information on aggregate pricing, 24-hour volume, market capitalization, and details on the underlying on-chain tokens and their issuers. CoinMarketCap stated that core RWA endpoints are accessible on its free Basic plan.
AdMarket Context and Strategic Goal
The launch comes as the tokenization of real-world assets gains traction, merging traditional finance (TradFi) with blockchain technology. To illustrate a practical use case, CoinMarketCap published a developer guide showing how the new endpoints could retrieve data on SpaceX's tokenized stock following its public listing, connecting a major market event to on-chain data.
"Developers should not have to stitch together a dozen providers to build a serious crypto product," said Rush, CEO of CoinMarketCap. "By bringing tokenized real-world assets into the same API that already covers spot, derivatives, DEX, and our own market indices, we give builders one dependable source of truth."
This expansion builds on CoinMarketCap's existing API, which provides data on crypto spot prices, derivatives, decentralized exchanges (DEXs), and proprietary metrics like the Fear & Greed Index. The company also noted its recent ISO/IEC 27001 and ISO/IEC 27701 certifications for information security and privacy management.
