CoinMarketCap Adds AI-Powered Endpoints to Professional API

CoinMarketCap has expanded its Pro API service with the launch of a new family of AI-powered endpoints, the company announced on Thursday. The update makes the AI-generated insights featured on its website available to developers as structured JSON data, enabling the integration of market analysis directly into third-party applications.
New Analytical Capabilities
The new endpoints are designed to provide an explanatory layer on top of traditional quantitative market data like price and volume. Developers can now access the reasoning and sources behind market trends in a machine-readable format.
"These new CMC AI endpoints make that API data even more powerful, because developers can now pull the number and the reasoning behind it in a single call, with the sources attached," said Rush, CEO of CoinMarketCap, in the announcement.
Endpoint Features
The launch includes three distinct endpoints that deliver pre-generated content from CoinMarketCap's database to ensure consistent and repeatable responses. Key features include:
Ad- A market feed: This endpoint provides data on trending narratives, market sentiment, momentum, and top news, refreshed every 30 minutes.
- A per-cryptocurrency endpoint: This offers analysis on a fixed set of questions for each of the top 100 digital assets by market capitalization, covering topics from daily price drivers to roadmap updates and codebase changes.
- A coverage map: This utility shows which assets currently have AI-generated content available.
Each API response provides a short summary, a longer body in markdown format, and a list of canonicalized source URLs used to generate the insight.
Availability and Market Impact
The new CMC AI endpoint family is an extension of an existing API that provides data on spot and derivatives markets, decentralized exchanges, and on-chain activity. By adding a qualitative layer, the tool allows developers to build more sophisticated applications that can interpret market context, not just report figures.
The AI endpoints are available at launch for customers on CoinMarketCap's Enterprise plans. The company stated that a subsequent release is scheduled to introduce a monthly AI credit allowance, which will open access to all other plan tiers, including the free one.
