Carbon Launches Hybrid Derivatives Platform with 950+ On-Chain Markets

Carbon, an on-chain prime brokerage, announced Tuesday the launch of a derivatives venue designed to bridge traditional finance (TradFi) with decentralized markets. The platform now offers public trading on over 950 instruments, including stocks, forex, and crypto perpetuals, from a single self-custodied account.
A Hybrid Approach to Liquidity
The platform's core innovation is its "solver architecture," which hedges every on-chain trade with a 1:1 position at a regulated off-chain broker. According to a company press release, this model is designed to solve the persistent liquidity challenges that have hindered the growth of real-world assets on-chain. By inheriting the market depth of established TradFi venues, Carbon's new markets are available with institutional-grade liquidity from their first day of trading.
This structure eliminates the need for bootstrapping on-chain order books or incentivizing liquidity providers for each new market. "Traders have had to choose between the assets they want and the execution they need. Carbon ends that trade-off," said Levy, Co-founder and CEO of Carbon, in a statement. "Every position is hedged into the deepest liquidity in the world and settles in the trader’s own wallet."
Expanded Market Access
The launch expands Carbon's offerings to a total of over 950 tradable instruments. The new additions focus on traditional markets and complement the platform's existing crypto-native products.
Ad- 250+ TradFi Markets: Includes 200 stocks across U.S., EU, and Asian markets, 62 forex pairs, 12 indices, and 8 commodities.
- 530+ Crypto Perpetuals: The platform's existing suite of cryptocurrency derivatives.
- 150 Real-World Assets (RWAs): Markets that trade 24/7.
Operating on the Arbitrum network, the platform's architecture received praise for its approach. "Carbon is operating an architecture that connects on-chain trading with established market infrastructure while preserving self-custody," said David Garcia, Ecosystem Lead at the Arbitrum Foundation.
New Yield Opportunities
Alongside the new markets, Carbon has opened its Carbon Liquidity Provider (CLP) vault to public deposits. The company describes the CLP as a delta-neutral yield product that earns fees by funding the hedging activities behind trader flow, rather than taking directional market risk.
According to the announcement, the modeled annual percentage yield (APY) is illustrative and ranges from 20.3% at current utilization to a potential 57.1% at maturity, depending on capital use and trading flow. Since its launch in 2023, Carbon has processed over $20 billion in cumulative trading volume from more than 36,000 unique traders, the company stated.
