The positive sentiment was reflected in market breadth on the Paris Stock Exchange, where 247 stocks rose compared to 223 that declined, while 80 ended the day unchanged.
Despite the gains, a measure of market volatility, the CAC 40 VIX, held steady at 18.96, a 52-week high, suggesting underlying caution among investors.

Energy and technology firms were among the day's biggest movers on the CAC 40 index. The top performers included:

In the broader SBF 120 index, shares of payments company Worldline SA (WLN) were a notable decliner, falling 5.89% to a new all-time low.
Commodity and Currency Markets
The rally in energy stocks corresponded with a sharp rise in oil prices. Crude oil futures for August delivery surged 4.75% to $74.80 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract climbed 4.76% to $79.63 a barrel. In contrast, Gold Futures for August delivery fell 2.19%.
Currency markets were relatively stable, with the EUR/USD and EUR/GBP pairs showing minimal change. The US Dollar Index Futures, which measures the greenback against a basket of currencies, ticked up 0.16%.
