Bybit Earns Spot on CNBC's 2026 World's Top Fintech Companies List

Bybit, the world's second-largest cryptocurrency exchange by trading volume, has been recognized on CNBC’s “World’s Top Fintech Companies 2026” list in the Digital Assets category. The annual ranking, produced by CNBC in partnership with market research firm Statista, highlights companies shaping the future of financial services.
Recognition and Industry Context
The selection places Bybit among 500 leading companies in the financial technology sector. According to the announcement, the process involved evaluating approximately 3,500 firms based on a scoring model that considered overall business performance and category-specific key performance indicators.
This recognition comes amid significant growth in the global fintech industry. A report by McKinsey & Co. cited that the sector generated approximately $650 billion in revenue in 2025, a 21% increase from the previous year. The report identified artificial intelligence, digital assets, and increasing regulatory maturity as key forces shaping the sector's next phase.
Strategic Expansion Beyond Crypto
Bybit's inclusion on the list reflects its strategic shift from a dedicated cryptocurrency exchange to a more comprehensive financial services platform. The company, which serves over 80 million users worldwide, has been working to integrate digital assets with traditional finance products, payments, and AI-powered tools.
AdRecent expansions to its product suite include tokenized assets such as equities through its xStocks service, AI-powered trading tools, and infrastructure designed for institutional market participants. This award follows Bybit's recent inclusion in the inaugural Fortune Crypto 100 list, further cementing its position in the global financial ecosystem.
Regulatory Milestones
As the digital asset industry matures, Bybit has also focused on expanding its regulated presence. The company holds a Virtual Asset Platform Operator license issued by the UAE's Securities and Commodities Authority.
In Europe, Bybit EU holds a license under the European Union’s Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) Regulation, which was issued by Austria’s Financial Market Authority. These licenses are crucial as institutional investors and regulators increasingly seek compliant and secure platforms for digital asset exposure.
