Belimo Shares Rebound Sharply on Jefferies Upgrade After Post-Earnings Selloff

Shares of Belimo (BEAN) surged on Tuesday, rebounding sharply after a Jefferies analyst upgrade reframed the narrative around the Swiss HVAC specialist's growth prospects. The stock climbed 4.8% to CHF 820.5 after the investment bank reversed its stance on the company just one day after a significant selloff.
Analyst Upgrade Cites Overreaction
Jefferies upgraded Belimo to 'Buy' from 'Hold' and set a new price target of CHF 1,035, arguing that the prior session's approximate 5% stock decline was an overreaction. The bank noted that consensus estimates for the second half of the year, which imply around 11% growth, appear "very conservative" and leave room for meaningful upside surprises.
The upgrade followed Belimo's strong first-half 2026 results, which beat analyst expectations. Key performance metrics included:
- Accelerated sales growth of 29.6% year-on-year in local currencies, reaching sales of CHF 676.4 million.
- Organic sales growth of approximately 30%, driven by a 23% increase in volume and mix, with pricing contributing 7%.
AdContext: Strong Results Met With Cautious Outlook
Despite the strong H1 performance, the stock initially fell after management withdrew its quantitative full-year revenue guidance. The company cited uncertainty around the precise timing of large data center deployments as the reason for its more cautious forward-looking statement, which spooked investors on Monday.
Demand from the data center sector remains a critical growth engine for Belimo, accounting for slightly more than half of the company's absolute sales growth in the first half of 2026. The Jefferies note appears to have restored investor confidence by framing the guidance issue as a matter of project timing rather than a fundamental deterioration in demand. Other analysts remain positive, with Kepler Cheuvreux maintaining its 'Buy' rating and a CHF 1,000 price target.
