Wistron Stock Jumps 10% on Launch of US Nvidia AI Chip Factory

Summary
Shares in the Taiwanese electronics manufacturer surged after it opened a $700 million facility in Texas to mass-produce Nvidia's advanced GB300 Grace Blackwell AI chips, a first for U.S. soil.
Wistron Corp. shares surged nearly 10% on Wednesday following the inauguration of its first U.S. manufacturing facility, a $700 million plant in Texas dedicated to producing advanced artificial intelligence chips for Nvidia. The development marks a significant step in localizing a critical part of the AI hardware supply chain on American soil.
U.S. Factory Begins Production
In a joint statement, Wistron and Nvidia announced the official opening of the AI smart factory in Fort Worth, Texas. The facility is already in mass production of Nvidia’s GB300 Grace Blackwell Ultra Superchip, representing the first time these high-performance components have been manufactured at scale in the United States.
The strategic importance of the partnership was highlighted by an opening ceremony co-led by Wistron Chairman Simon Lin and Nvidia Founder and CEO Jensen Huang. According to the companies, the plant is scaling up to produce tens of thousands of boards per month and is also preparing a manufacturing line for Nvidia's next-generation Vera Rubin platform.
Market Reaction and Analyst Outlook
AdInvestors responded positively to the announcement, driving Wistron's stock (TPE:3231) up by almost 10% to T$164.0 in Wednesday's trading. The move reflects growing investor confidence in Wistron's central role in the expanding AI server market.
This bullish momentum follows a recent analyst upgrade. Two days prior, UBS raised its price target on Wistron to TWD 225 from TWD 215, maintaining a "Buy" rating. The investment bank cited stronger-than-expected AI rack shipments and the upcoming launch of new server platforms as key reasons for lifting its 2026 and 2027 earnings estimates.
Broader Sector Strength
Wistron's gains also occurred amid a wider rebound for semiconductor and AI-related stocks. Market sentiment was buoyed by upbeat earnings from AI server maker Super Micro Computer and anticipation ahead of key financial results from major cloud and AI player Alphabet.
