Waymo Launches Driverless Service in Las Vegas, Plans Expansion to Three More Cities

Waymo, the autonomous vehicle company under Alphabet Inc., has expanded its driverless ride-hailing service to Las Vegas. The company also announced its intention to launch operations in three additional U.S. cities as it continues to scale its technology.
The service in Las Vegas is now active, allowing customers to hail vehicles operating without a human driver. According to the announcement, Denver, San Diego, and Tampa are the next cities slated for expansion. Waymo has not provided a specific timeline for when paid services will launch in these upcoming locations but encouraged potential users to download its app for notifications.
This expansion adds to Waymo's growing footprint across the United States. The company already offers autonomous vehicle rides in several major metropolitan areas, including Phoenix, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Miami, and Atlanta.
AdIn some markets, such as Atlanta and Austin, Waymo also partners with Uber to offer its driverless vehicles through the Uber app. The latest move into Las Vegas and the other cities signals the company's ongoing effort to commercialize its fully autonomous driving technology on a wider scale.
