Background

Streamex Corp. (NASDAQ: STEX) announced its gold-backed, yield-bearing tokenized security, $GLDY, is now available for purchase through traditional brokerage accounts. The development, effective June 29, allows accredited investors to gain exposure to the digital asset via a partnership with FINRA-member broker Siebert Financial, removing the need for direct interaction with cryptocurrency wallets or exchanges.

Bridging Digital Assets and Traditional Finance

The collaboration integrates three firms: Streamex as the issuer, Siebert Financial for distribution, and regulated digital-securities platform tZERO for custody. Siebert, which oversees approximately $20 billion in client assets, can now offer the tokenized gold security to its clients alongside conventional investments like stocks and bonds.

This structure is intended to meet traditional investors within the existing wealth management framework. "Putting $GLDY into a brokerage account is a major step toward that, because it meets traditional investors exactly where they already are," said Henry McPhie, Co-Founder & CEO of Streamex, in a statement.

How the $GLDY Token Works

The $GLDY security is designed to combine features of physical gold with the functionality of a digital asset. Its key attributes include:

  • It is a regulated security available to verified accredited investors under Rule 506(c) of Regulation D.
  • It offers a variable annual yield of up to approximately 3.5%, which is distributed monthly and paid in additional gold.
  • The yield is generated by lending the underlying physical gold to commercial users such as jewelers, mints, and refiners, according to the company.

Market Context and Future Plans

This brokerage integration is the latest step in Streamex's strategy to broaden access to tokenized commodities. The company launched $GLDY in February and enabled 24/7 secondary trading on the Solana-based decentralized exchange Orca in May.

Streamex also stated it is building a platform for a retail-focused version of its digital gold product, which would be accessible to a wider, non-accredited audience. This initiative aligns with the growing market for tokenized real-world assets (RWAs), a sector that has seen increased volume and user activity on high-speed blockchains like Solana in 2026.
