Spain's IBEX 35 Closes Higher on Strength in Consumer and Construction Stocks

Spain's benchmark stock index, the IBEX 35, edged higher at the close of trading on Friday, lifted by gains in consumer-focused and construction companies. The index finished the session up 0.25%, reflecting a mixed but ultimately positive sentiment among investors in Madrid.
Sector and Stock Performance

Advancing stocks outnumbered decliners on the Madrid Stock Exchange by a margin of 95 to 77, with 30 issues ending the day unchanged.
The session's top performers on the IBEX 35 included:

- ACS Actividades de Construccion y Servicios SA (BME:ACS): The construction and services group rose 1.29% to finish at 102.00.

Broader Market Context
The modest gains in Spanish equities came amid mixed movements in global commodity and currency markets. In energy trading, Crude oil for October delivery saw a slight decline, while the Brent oil contract posted a marginal gain. Meanwhile, Gold Futures for December delivery fell 1.24%.
Major currency pairs showed little movement, with the EUR/USD and EUR/GBP pairs remaining mostly flat. The US Dollar Index Futures, however, saw a slight increase of 0.20%, indicating a modest strengthening of the dollar against a basket of other major currencies.
