Background

Sodexo (EXHO) shares rose 2.9% to €54.60 in recent trading, driven by the announcement of a significant new global contract and sustained positive sentiment following a recent analyst upgrade.

Major Contract Win

The French food services and facilities management group secured a new five-year global partnership with speciality chemical company Clariant. The contract covers a range of facilities management services across more than 50 sites in 13 countries in Europe, the Americas, and the Asia-Pacific region.

According to the company, the deal is set to mobilize in October 2026. This win underscores Sodexo's ability to secure large, multi-geography mandates, a key component of its ongoing strategic transformation.

Analyst Confidence and Market Context

The stock's advance was also supported by a recent BofA Securities upgrade from "Neutral" to "Buy." The bank raised its price target on Sodexo to €64.20 from €52.20, citing management's "Shift & Grow 2030" strategy as the start of a credible multi-year turnaround.

Presented at a July 16 Investor Day, the strategy targets organic revenue growth above 5% and an underlying operating margin above 5% by fiscal 2030. BofA analysts noted that the company's near-term guidance for fiscal years 2026-2027 appears beatable. Sodexo's gains came despite a flat broader market, with the CAC 40 in Paris showing little movement, indicating the rally was driven by company-specific factors.
