Saudi Tadawul Index Closes Marginally Higher on Industrial Sector Strength

Saudi Arabia's benchmark stock index finished Sunday's trading session with a slight gain, driven by strength in specific industrial sectors. The Tadawul All Share (TASI) index closed up 0.10%, according to market data.
Sector and Stock Movers
The modest advance was primarily supported by gains in the Industrial Investment, Cement, and Building & Construction sectors. However, the broader market sentiment was mixed, as declining stocks outnumbered advancing ones 159 to 154, with 25 stocks ending the session unchanged. This negative market breadth suggests the index's gains were concentrated in a relatively small number of companies.
Key individual performers included:
- LIVA Insurance Co (TADAWUL:8280), which surged 9.93% to close at 14.61, a new 52-week high.
- Saudi Printing & Packaging Company (TADAWUL:4270), which added 9.91%.
- Saudi Industrial Export Co (TADAWUL:4140), rising 8.89%.
AdOn the downside, Saudi Fisheries Co. (TADAWUL:6050) was among the biggest decliners, falling 4.76%. It was followed by Saudi Arabia Refineries Co. (TADAWUL:2030), which dropped 4.08%, and East Pipes Integrated Company for Industry (TADAWUL:1321), which lost 3.96%.
Broader Market Context
The equity market's performance came as energy prices showed weakness. August futures for West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude oil were down approximately 0.93% to trade at $71.41 a barrel. Brent oil for September delivery also fell, declining about 0.38% to $76.01 a barrel.
In currency markets, the Saudi riyal remained stable against the U.S. dollar, with the USD/SAR pair unchanged at 3.75. The US Dollar Index Futures, which measures the greenback against a basket of major currencies, saw a slight increase of 0.07%.
