Robinhood Stock Rallies on 24/7 Trading Plans, Analyst Upgrades

Summary
Shares of the online brokerage gained in pre-market trading after the company announced a major product expansion, including round-the-clock trading, and received positive analyst commentary on strong Q3 performance.
Robinhood Markets (HOOD) stock rose sharply in pre-open trading, driven by a series of ambitious product announcements at its annual conference and bullish analyst notes citing strong preliminary third-quarter results. Shares gained 3.3% to reach $120.11 on company-specific news, significantly outperforming a flat broader market.
Ambitious Product Expansion
At its HOOD Summit ’26 conference, Robinhood detailed one of its most significant product expansions to date, centered on increasing market access for retail traders. The company announced its intention to move from 24/5 to 24/7 trading for native U.S. equities, which would include weekend trading.
Other key initiatives unveiled include:
- A 35% expansion of its options trading hours.
- The introduction of Robinhood Agents, a new AI-powered trading system.
CEO Vlad Tenev said the company is "making Robinhood the best place in the world for active traders by delivering tools once reserved for hedge funds, big banks, and quant firms," according to the announcement.
Wall Street Cites Q3 Strength
AdIn response to the news and strong preliminary Q3 trading data, several Wall Street firms updated their outlook on the stock. BTIG raised its price target on Robinhood to $135 from $125, maintaining a Buy rating. The firm noted that third-quarter trading volumes are running well ahead of expectations, with options contracts 11% above consensus and crypto trading volume 25% ahead of consensus.
Separately, Barclays reiterated its Overweight rating, stating that transaction revenues for the third quarter are tracking above Street estimates. The bank highlighted that strong performance in cryptocurrency trading is expected to drive a "meaningful beat versus consensus" for net transaction revenues.
Market Context
Robinhood's pre-market advance was a standout performance against a muted market backdrop, with the S&P 500 up just 0.05% and the Nasdaq trading slightly lower. This indicates the rally was fueled by company-specific catalysts rather than a broader market trend.
The announcements also align with favorable regulatory tailwinds, as the SEC has taken steps to clear a path for tokenized securities and bring U.S. markets closer to round-the-clock operations.
