Monday.com Stock Rebounds on AI Event News, Broader Market Rally

Summary
Shares of Monday.com recovered from a prior session's steep decline, lifted by the announcement of an AI-focused conference and a broad market rally fueled by softer inflation data.
Shares of Monday.com (NASDAQ: MNDY) surged nearly 5% in morning trading, staging a significant recovery after a sharp sell-off in the previous session prompted by an analyst downgrade.
The rally was supported by a company announcement detailing a new artificial intelligence initiative and a favorable macroeconomic environment that lifted technology stocks.
Rebound Follows JPMorgan Downgrade
The stock's rebound comes a day after it tumbled following a downgrade from JPMorgan. Analyst Samik Chatterjee cut his rating on the work management software company to Neutral from Overweight and trimmed the price target to $87 from $90.
JPMorgan cited several headwinds for the downgrade, according to its report:
- Decelerating growth in net-new annual recurring revenue (ARR).
- Elongated sales cycles, particularly with small and mid-market customers.
- Challenges in lead generation following the company's recent workforce reductions.
That analysis sent the stock to a close of $76.05 in the prior session, creating a technically oversold condition that set the stage for a potential bounce.
AdAI Strategy in Focus
Countering the negative sentiment, Monday.com on September 29 released the full program for its upcoming Elevate '26 conference, which prominently features its strategy in the AI agent space. The event is scheduled for October 28–29 in New York and will feature speakers from major tech firms including LinkedIn, Microsoft, Google, and Meta.
The company emphasized that the conference will include hands-on AI agent building for attendees. Co-CEO Roy Mann stated the goal is for participants "to build agents, integrate them into their day-to-day, and leave with new ways to move their work and businesses forward." This focus on tangible AI applications and enterprise partnerships appeared to resonate with investors seeking clear paths to AI monetization.
Broader Market Provides a Lift
The stock also benefited from a constructive macroeconomic backdrop. U.S. equities rallied broadly after new inflation data came in softer than analysts had anticipated. This reduced investor expectations for a near-term interest rate hike from the Federal Reserve, boosting rate-sensitive growth and technology stocks.
The tech-heavy NASDAQ Composite index advanced nearly 1.0%, providing a rising tide that lifted shares of software companies like Monday.com. By mid-morning, the stock was trading around $79.81.
