Renishaw Shares Surge After Record Revenue and Upgraded Profit Guidance

Shares of Renishaw (LSE:RSW) surged on Friday after the British precision engineering group released a trading update that included record quarterly revenue and upgraded guidance for its full-year profit and sales.
The company's stock climbed 7.5% to 5,318 pence following the announcement, approaching its 52-week high.
Upgraded Financial Outlook
In a fourth-quarter trading update, Renishaw reported record quarterly revenue of approximately £243 million, a 27% increase year-over-year and an 18% rise from the third quarter. The company cited particularly strong momentum from customers in the semiconductor, electronics manufacturing, aerospace, and defence sectors.
Based on the strong performance, Renishaw raised its financial forecasts for the full fiscal year:
Ad- Adjusted Profit Before Tax: Now expected to be approximately £167 million, which is above the high end of its previous guidance range of £145 million to £165 million.
- Full-Year Revenue: Forecast to be around £815 million, an increase from the prior estimate of £775 million to £805 million. This represents roughly 14% growth compared to the previous fiscal year.
Market Context
The positive update provided a significant catalyst for the stock, which had retreated from earlier highs amid a more cautious outlook for the industrial sector. Friday's announcement reset investor expectations and propelled the shares toward their 52-week high of 5,485p, underscoring the recovery from a low of 2,865p over the past year.
The company's string of record quarterly results throughout the fiscal year has reinforced investor confidence. Renishaw is scheduled to release its full-year results on September 23, 2026.
