Prysmian Stock Gains as Citi Reinstates 'Buy' Rating

Prysmian (PRY) shares gained on Tuesday after analysts at Citi reinstated coverage of the Italian cable manufacturer with a Buy rating, setting a price target of €136. The stock rose as much as 1.9% to trade at €100.75 following the bullish analyst note.
Valuation and Growth Outlook Drive Upgrade
Citi's positive reassessment comes after the stock experienced a significant decline, shedding roughly 31% of its value since late June. The bank argued that this sharp compression in valuation multiples presents a compelling entry point for investors.
The investment case is rooted in what Citi described as structural mega-trends in electrification and power grid spending. The bank projects Prysmian's EBITDA could reach €5.2 billion by 2030, which would imply a 16% compound annual growth rate (CAGR) for the 2026–2030 period.
Technicals and Earnings in Focus
The market's positive reaction was likely amplified by the stock's oversold technical condition. Prior to the rally, Prysmian was trading more than 36% below its 52-week high and well under its 200-day moving average, suggesting the recent selling pressure may have been overextended.
AdInvestor positioning ahead of the company's third-quarter 2026 earnings release, scheduled for October 29, also appears to be a factor. The current analyst consensus forecasts quarterly revenue of approximately €5.9 billion.
Acquisition Impact and Analyst Consensus
Citi also noted that Prysmian's recently completed $3.8 billion acquisition of Atkore could provide a near-term boost to its financial guidance. The bank suggested the deal could push the company's 2026 adjusted EBITDA forecast toward the €2.95–€3.0 billion range.
The broader sell-side community remains constructive on the stock. Major financial institutions including Bank of America, Jefferies, and Barclays also maintain Buy ratings on Prysmian, indicating a widely held positive view among analysts.
