Precision Neuroscience Secures $250 Million in Series D Funding Led by Pershing Square

Summary
The brain-computer interface developer has raised $250 million in an oversubscribed Series D round, bringing its total funding to $430 million to advance its clinical and commercial operations.
Precision Neuroscience Corporation, a developer of brain-computer interface (BCI) technology, announced it has closed a $250 million Series D financing round. The funding brings the company's total capital raised to $430 million since its founding in 2021, signaling strong investor confidence in its approach to neurological treatments.
High-Profile Investor Backing
The oversubscribed round was co-led by Pershing Square Inc., the Ackman Oxman Institute, and an undisclosed life sciences investment fund. The diverse group of new and existing investors highlights broad support from various sectors of the financial community.
Participants included prominent names such as the Duquesne Family Office, B Capital, ARK Invest, and sovereign wealth fund Mubadala Capital. The syndicate also featured Invus, Mirae Asset Capital, Korea Investment Partners, Hitachi Ventures, and JSL Health Capital.
Fueling Clinical and Commercial Expansion
Precision Neuroscience stated the new capital will be used to expand its clinical program, advance its Layer 7 cortical interface through further U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) review, and build out its commercialization infrastructure. The company has already received FDA clearance for the device.
Ad"The next phase of BCI will be defined by more than technology alone," said Michael Mager, co-founder and CEO of Precision. "We have built the clinical network, regulatory position, and manufacturing base that leadership in this field requires." The company noted it has completed more than 100 patient procedures across 18 medical institutions and operates its own manufacturing facility in Texas.
Bolstering Scientific Leadership
To support its next growth phase, Precision has appointed Dr. John Donoghue, a renowned neuroscientist and founder of the BrainGate BCI consortium, as a scientific advisor. This addition strengthens the company's scientific expertise as it moves toward broader clinical application.
Precision has also established a commercial partnership with medical device giant Medtronic and maintains a clinical network that includes the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, the University of Chicago Medicine, and the Mount Sinai Health System.
