Nordex Shares Rise Over 4% on 32% Surge in Q2 Wind Turbine Orders

Summary
The German wind turbine maker reported a 32.2% year-over-year increase in second-quarter order intake to 3,054 MW, driven by strong demand in the U.S. and Europe, boosting investor confidence.
Nordex SE (NDXG) shares jumped over 4% on Thursday after the German wind turbine manufacturer reported a significant year-over-year increase in second-quarter orders, bolstered by robust demand in Europe and a notable surge in its U.S. business. The company's latest figures point to continued momentum in the onshore wind energy sector.
Order Intake Shows Strong Growth
Nordex announced its order intake for the Projects segment reached 3,054 megawatts (MW) in the second quarter of 2026. This represents a 32.2% increase from the 2,310 MW recorded in the same period of 2025, according to a company statement.
For the first half of 2026, total order intake amounted to 4,923 MW, a 9.6% rise from the 4,492 MW reported in the first half of the previous year. The positive market reaction sent the company's stock higher in Thursday's trading.
Pricing Remains Stable as Mix Shifts
The average sales price per megawatt of capacity held steady at €0.97 million in the second quarter, unchanged from the prior-year period. However, the average price for the first half of the year rose to €0.95 million per megawatt from €0.92 million a year earlier.
AdNordex attributed the first-half price increase primarily to "project scope and regional mix effects." During the second quarter, customers placed orders for a total of 496 wind turbines for projects across 10 countries, with Germany, the United States, and Türkiye cited as the strongest individual markets.
U.S. Demand Signals Key Milestone
Company leadership highlighted the strengthening of its position in the American market as a crucial development. "With an order intake of around 800 megawatts in the US this quarter, we’ve reached an important milestone," said Jose Luis Blanco, CEO of the Nordex Group.
Blanco added that the U.S. orders reflect "the trust our customers place in us and the strength of our organisation in the American market." This performance underscores the company's ability to capitalize on growing demand for onshore wind projects in North America.
